Sky is the UK's largest supplier of Digital TV channels, being a satellite service you must have a satellite dish. Sky is a subscription service which also provides a Free To Air service which provides over 250 digital TV channels, and over 85 radio channels.

Sky divides its basic TV subscription channels into 6 packages,
Kids, Knowledge, News, Style and Culture, Music and Variety.

After the 1st basic package you can mix and match any combination of basic and premier packages.

Sky's premier packages which consists of Sky Movies and Sky Sports, which then have further options such as Pay Per View. This is where you pay for an individual event such as a boxing, cricket, football or rugby match.

Upgrade to a SkyPlus box you can record, playback, pause or rewind live TV

Sky can also be received in HD with Sky's SkyPlusHD box.

Through Sky's system you can also access various International and specialist channels, all at extra cost, as are the adult content channels.

There are also other Sky packages which will give you cheaper phone calls, and high speed broadband access, in some cases even free broadband.

If you cancel your Sky subscription you get to keep the installation, box, dish and remote, which then acts like a FreeView box.
